"Rite of Spring": the glazing phase.  This tile has been glazed but not yet fired.  Did you find the insect?  The piece will be approximately 8" X 10 1/2".  It is very dimensional and designed to be fired in the gas kiln, though this tile (#2) will be fired to cone 6.

One of the most exciting elements of working with clay is the initial design phase.  The Newest Creations Page is dedicated to this process.  Here, I will be showing the latest subjects that are being translated into tiles.  Recording the process through photographs of sketches, plaster molds and bisque-fired clay will hopefully be of interest to you.
